About Pi Taxi
Pi Taxi was developed as a Ride Hailing service to operate in Bangalore (India), offering features similar to Uber, back in 2013.
In the initial phase of the app it wanted to replace phone-systems with an app to hail a cab in the city of Bangalore.
Key Features
- Resolving address through Reverse Geo coding of the current location.
- Used Directions from Google APIs (whenever available) to predict distance, falling back on aerial distance for an estimate.
- Live tracking of the ride and two-way calculation of distances (rider and driver, both) to present an accurate bill.
